I haven't decided yet to do it 100 percent but I have decided to take bits and pieces of the minimalist approach and make it uniquely mine. I feel that my beginning to purge of personal belongings at home and at work has given me a bit of relief. I haven't been able to focus on my photography the way that I have wanted. It may sound silly but by purging non-sensical items that I have collected over the years has felt really good and, I feel, has even motivated me in the area of my photography. Less to worry about means no excuses to not focus on my photography.
I keep reading that the more you have, the more you have to worry about, therefore, leading you to focusing on things of non-importance. This resulting in spending time with things other than my photography. I like the mantra and have since started ridding myself of "things." I cleaned off my desk at work of clutter. Things I haven't used in months. Magazines that were collecting dust went in the recycling bin. It was beautiful. I am pretty sure that I was smirking as it all found a place in either a blue recycling bin or the garbage pail. So simple yet so rewarding. Now to move this motivating vison to my home where things carry more personal meaning. I think I can manage though.
